I am so excited to start my studies at BYU! I am an international student from Latvia, so I will have a whole new experience both in a college and in another country/culture. I am a little bit nervous about how I am going to integrate in American culture, about getting new friends, getting good grades, etc. I was studying in the University of Latvia for a year, but the univeristies there are much more different. But I am kind of willing to see what will happen, and I am trying not to worry too much about things.

I am excited about most of my classes. I have to take general requirements this semester, but I also have some classes for fun, for example, ballet beginning and basic voice technique, as I love dancing and singing. I can't wait to experience the life of a student at BYU! I am also very excited to meet new people and to go to different events on-campus.

As I expected, I have a lot of questions about everything. But I am fortunate enough to have friends that live here and also missionaries that come to Latvia whom I could ask a lot of questions about BYU, and they have already helped a lot. I still have questions about technical stuff, like if I have been taking private tennis lessons for at least 6 years, do I still have to take tennis beginning if I want to play tennis. But I am sure they will be answered at NSO.

I'm really glad that there is such an event as NSO for new students. I am sure it will be a lot of fun, as well as very useful. I expect from NSO to get an introduction in a student's life, get a vibe of how it's going to be like to study at BYU, to have my questions answered, as well as meet new friends, new students as myself. And to have a lot of fun!
